verse and prayers for Friday July 19

KRISTINEFREDRIKA - 10:44AM UTC, Jul 19th 2013

Great verse yesterday Steph...How often do we give our full attention to God? Not getting worked up about the next day is something I definitely have to work on.

Keep holding on day at a time  enjoy that beach!

Annette...have you ever thought the headaches are food related? Probably stress too...since limiting my caffeine to one or two a day I get a lot less headaches...

I'm sharing this from Max...because of my affection for my smart phone :talking:
My cellphone contract is up. So, I am a candidate for a new smartphone. A week of shopping has made me wonder: am I smart enough to buy a smartphone?

HTC, iOS, WWDC, S3, Samung, G-U-L-P. How many models are there? How many options can one brain process? Carriers, updates, data plans, and sizes…someone help me! 3G, 4G, LTE, GSM, HSPA+. NFC, GPS, PPI. Dual-core, quad-core. Five megapixels, eight megapixels. Android 4.1, Android 4.2. iOS 6, iOS 7. Q10, Z10. Google Play, iTunes, iCloud. Windows Phone 8 (or is it Windows 8 Phone?). BlackBerry . iPhone 5, iPhone 5S. Samsung Galaxy S3, Samsung Galaxy S4. HTC One. Nexus 4.

Leaves me longing for the day of wired telephones in the living room. I remember when my parents bought an extension for their bedroom. We thought we had moved ahead one century! Hang on to your hat, Alexander Bell.

Changes happen so fast these days, can anyone keep up? By one estimate, there are some 37,000 smartphones on the market today. That was a month ago. Odds are the number is now 38,000. Increasing at the rate of the national debt. Are you kidding me?

I am glad, really glad, that talking to God does not require a smartphone. Jesus taught us to begin our prayers by saying, “Our Father in heaven” (Mt. 6:9). More specifically, our “Abba in heaven.” Abba was an intimate, tender, folksy, pedestrian term, the warmest of the Aramaic words for “father.” Formality stripped away. Proximity promised. Jesus invites us to approach God like a child approaches Daddy. No special training required. No monthly plan needed.

Stunning, don’t you think, that the highest conversation in life requires nothing but an open heart and a “Dear Father?” How gracious of God to keep it simple.

Even more gracious of Him not to require a smartphone.

Good morning:heart2:,

Kris--there are a few factors that can give me headaches---I have noticed a hormonal connection over the past few months, that is kind of fun and new, lol. Before my CPAP I had a lot of migraines, during each pregnancy many many migraines (doc said it was hormonal and that there was nothing i could do, except take a low dose of vicoden--i tried hard to fix it with diet)I have been migraine free for several years (my CPAP eliminated them, amen) until the past few months and they seem to be hormonal, my mom had similar issues....always the same day of my cycle....besides that stress, dehydration(I shed a lot of tears this week), and chocolate are triggers.....ibuprofen, ice water, rest, peace, and caffeine seem to all help me get rid of a headache....especially combined:).

Oops, time has flown by for me and I need to run!

God bless:heart2:,

Good Morning,

Nice Reminder to start my prayers correctly:$ I usually just jump right in full conversation mode.

Really sore, I think I will take it easy and save myself up for tomorrow. DH is coming up today and staying the night after work. We plan on going to Joe's Crab Shack to celebrate his Birthday today. I have a nice pile of wood ready to be taken home for fire wood:clap: I got the yard mostly mowed I skipped some of it so I would have more time to cut wood last night. I am ready to get this work day in my mind isn't really in it. DD will be coming home with us tomorrow. Praying that the hand off goes smoothly. Hopefully my DH can fix my push mower and that when he looks at the rider that everything is still OK.

Psalm 34:1-10
Common English Bible (CEB)
Psalm 34[a]

Of David, when he pretended to be crazy before Abimelech, who banished him so that he left.

34 I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise will always be in my mouth.
2 I[b] praise the Lord—
let the suffering listen and rejoice.
3 Magnify the Lord with me!
Together let us lift his name up high!
4 I sought the Lord and he answered me.
He delivered me from all my fears.
5 Those who look to God will shine;
their faces are never ashamed.
6 This suffering person cried out:
the Lord listened and saved him from every trouble.
7 On every side, the Lord’s messenger protects those who honor God; and he delivers them.
8 Taste and see how good the Lord is!
The one who takes refuge in him is truly happy!
9 You who are the Lord’s holy ones, honor him,
because those who honor him don’t lack a thing.
10 Even strong young lions go without and get hungry,
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend:)
