Well, feel like I can get started.


I already had a friendly challenge set up--competing 'till 2014 to get as close to my goal weight as I can w/ someone else.

Finally feel at a point where I'm not unnecessarily pressuring myself to get way to much done, way too fast/unhealthily. I suppose I'm a bit more realistic and laid back now.

My past efforts at weight loss were admittedly obsessive, and--actually--probably a facet of my OCD tendencies...

Now that my brain is kind of calmed down (perhaps I've grown out of a lot of the frenzied thinking) I feel like I can handle this better.

Wayyy more relaxed, aha.

Anyhow--I've had Calorie King nutrition books for the past few years to track carbs for my Type 1 Diabetes, and I'm always getting re-recommended the tools on calorieking.com by people on my healthcare team. Kind of felt a spark to just check this out and set it up today.

:D And the sale was also nice~ Aha.

Losing weight mostly because I want to be healthy. Aesthetic reasons are a plus--but part of my change of mentality is that I have finally come to the point that I could *almost* care less what I look like as long as my diabetes is going to be managed well and my blood work comes back healthy. So achieving a moderate level of fitness, whether that will mean any weight loss or not, is my main frame of mind at the moment.
