ARCHYJILL's CalorieKing blog

Tuesday, Aug 17 2010 - A good day, even if I was in meeting from he*l

View ARCHYJILL's food & exercise for this day

Ah yes, the grand meeting in the thriving Metropolis of Twin Falls. UGH!!! Enough said about that. Today's pic is a wind turbine in flames. No, I don't have any further comments on that :bang:

Actually managed to stay mostly within calorie targets today!!! This in spite of the "free" breakfast at the hotel (I could smell waffles as I showered, torture!), the "free" lunch at the meeting (sandwiches, cookies galore, creamy salads), and going out to eat with the hubby when I got home. I ate the food I brought with me throughout the day so that definitely accounts for my good calories today. Although I didn't make it to my morning run I did make it to Boot Camp, but only by the skin of my teeth! To make Boot Camp I had to leave that meeting by 2pm. 1:45 rolls around and everyone is making all those "wrapping up" noises but not actually doing anything. By 2:05 I couldn't take it any more. "Are we done here? Cause I have other things to do.", I stated. Everyone looked at me like I was crazy, after all, what could be more fun than a redundant meeting??? Conceding that the end had arrived, we all left. Well, I booked out the door while others socialized around the cookie plates.

Driving like mad, I had just three hours to make it back into town and get to class on time. I sent a text to a buddy and asked her to set up my weights for me, just in case I was late. I got off the freeway in plenty of time only to be followed by a cop all the way to the gym (argh!). Made it to class on time though, which brings us to: Crazy Boot Camp Lady.

Crazy Boot Camp Lady (aka Sue) feeds off the failure of others...swear to God. True story: Last Tuesday she was complaining that she felt under the weather, I just wrote it off as her playing head games because she totally kicked my butt. Hear from buddy that Sue kicked butt again last night in Kickboxing (which I am too uncoordinated to actually do). Talked to Sue before class today and found out that last Friday (yes, just a few days ago) she was in desperate pain and drove herself to the ER where they discovered she was passing a kidney stone...she was sooooo disappointed and felt guilty to cancel Friday's version of Boot Camp. As she only has one kidney (lost other due to cancer) the docs were rightfully concerned and kept her overnight, etc. BUT CLEARLY SHE HAS RECOVERED JUST FINE!!!! Tonight's class was PACKED (they should make people sign up in advance) and about 1/2 were newbies, so about 1/2 way into class they all had the classic "WTF?!?!?" look on their faces as the rest of us pressed grimly on. But even I could not endure, the power of all those newbies suffering fueled Sue to new heights.

As I was prepared for a run and not Boot Camp all I had to wear was my tiny running shorts and thin tank top. Every time we did plyometric moves I could see the cellulite on my thighs waving like a giant bowl of semi-frozen cottage cheese...lots of lumps moving in unison. Ugh. Motivational though!

Tomorrow will be even better than today, I can feel it!! :teeth1:
