ARCHYJILL's CalorieKing blog

Thursday, Aug 19 2010 - We'll call this a "yellow" day

View ARCHYJILL's food & exercise for this day

At one of the old websites I used to use we were ranked as having a green, yellow or red day. Basically, the idea was that if you lived every day that way would you lose weight (green), maintain (yellow), or gain (red)? It really encouraged you to take the long view of things. Today I went over my CK calorie limit (1500 net) but made my trainer limit (2200-2500), did some field work (about 3 miles walking), and did my resistance training for an hour. I managed to stay within my prescribed fat, protein, and carb goals...so, yes, if you are thinking the overage came from booze you would be correct :drunk:

Tomorrow (after Friday morning Boot Camp) we leave for a weekend getaway to Salt Lake City, and I am soooo excited. With our crazy schedules we decided it would be worthwhile for our mental health (and our marriage) to get the heck out of dodge one weekend a month. Our first night will be in Provo, which appears for some reason to be the running capital of the west. No joking, on danged near any given weekend one can find a race of some sort in the Happy Valley...and they are good races too! Our hotel is right next to the river path so there will be a great bike ride tomorrow night and a good run Saturday morning. I can't wait for Saturday's run! Usually I have lingering guilt that hubby is bored waiting for me to finish and lingering worry that the dogs will get into trouble. Saturday hubby will be happily ensconced in the library (where he would be happy living full time) and the pups will be at the kennel....which means the run is all MINE =D After Provo we'll go to a ball game in Salt Lake and I will shop my little heart out while hubby visits yet another library. All in all, promises to be a good trip. I plan to gorge myself on Indian food, Pre-Columbian Mexican, and a couple of great old diners...all while following the rules of course (no flour, sugar or dairy) but not worrying so much about the calories.

Re-upped my contract with the trainer too. I think I have posed a challenge for him with my demands for more core work and the fast paced workout. I keep telling him he gets paid by the hour so we need to keep a brisk pace :eyebrows:

I can't wait to hear about your trip. Sounds Awesome! Okay...so how hard is it to pull off a no flour, sugar and dairy diet ?? Especially spending a weekend away?? What is your favorite meal that falls in the parameters?

I love the runs you can call your own...they are the best!

So...hubby loves the library?..gee I wondered how I figured that one out..heehee. If I could live in one...I would. I love the library. Oh yeah..and go for some runs too. :) I should have pursued my passion. Its something I will forever drill into my children's heads!
