Good grief...will my weight never shift??? No matter what I do the weight remains the same. ARGH!

On the bright side of things, my shopping trip during my mini-vacation revealed that I am now a size 4. What the @$@!%$%%?? I still feel like a size 16...I think I look like a size 16. I think this problem is due to two things: I always carried my weight very proportionately and I lost my weight VERY gradually. Well, and a third thing: the vanity sizing conspiracy. Never heard of vanity sizing??? It is basically the idea that clothing manufacturers will label something smaller than it is with the idea that it will instantly boost your ego and you will buy lots of their line. Last year (at 165 pounds) I walked into a GAP store and managed to fit into size 2 shorts.....come on, I am vain but not dumb! I was inspired to try out the size 4 because my size 6 Carhartt (i.e. canvas/steel wonders of the working class) canvas pants were a TAD loose...I proceeded to try on 4s at at least six different stores, but like I said...probably a conspiracy. Will head to ranch outfitter tomorrow and buy a pair of 4 Carhartts...then we'll know!

Didn't really "fall" off the wagon during my vacation, but rather got off the train with the intention of reboarding today. And reboard I did! 4am wakeup for a run with the crazy dog (brrr!!! so much for summer), ate responsibly all day, went to Boot Camp (insane! when I don't feel fat at the end of that class I will consider myself fit), ate a good dinner (chicken breast, steamed broccoli, bit of pearled barely, sweet potato, glass of wine), and had enough to spare for a martini or two with hubby under full moon

Will probably do an easy downhill run tomorrow evening, gotta prep for the "Little Grand Canyon" 1/2...which is all downhill!

GOODKAT - I feared as much! Sigh.... Have thought about "maintaining" too, but it wouldn't be any different than what I am doing now given I am trying to lose yet am maintaining. That's a lot of effort!

I love and hate to shop because of the sizing.... I just want to buy something not have to put every thing on every time... Oh well, what can ya do...
Dinner sounds delish! Hope you enjoyed it!

I have some size 10 pants that I've had for 10 years since the last time I was this weight. They're snug. I can now buy size 8 and they fit perfect. Conclusion: Vanity sizing. It's definately a conspiracy!

We're virtually the same weight/goal. I was stuck for so long I finally put myself into maintenance.
