Wow...so I thought I had blown today completely because I "binged" on two Kashi granola bars...turns out I am OK but fat intake too high. I count the Kashi bars as a binge because I ate them entirely for the purpose of feeding my faced cause I was po'd. Trainer and I talked about my crappy run on Saturday...need to up the carbs throughout the week so will be cutting back on the protein a bit. Will also meet with him this Thursday and see if that helps out any. Ah, and final strateg...Sunday, August 29th 2010
Oh dear. Well, here's the thing: Hubby and I are going to Dingle, Ireland to meet up with an internet buddy (WOOHOO!!!!!!) and do a road race. Question is, what length? Ah...so the pic to your right is what I see when I am almost done with my long run. What is it? It is my hydration pack and tank top hanging on the signpost for the "Franklin River Crossing"...which is kinda funny cause the "crossing" is for a "river" that is maybe 2 feet across, and the "river" itself is the remnants of Pleistocene Lake Franklin (i.e. a REALLY long time ago....like around 10,000 years). But this is the desert, and anything with water i...Friday, August 27th 2010
I remember growing up in the era of Mary Lou Retton and watching her during the Olympics and hoping for that "perfect 10" score. Well, today I had my perfect ten food-wise. Have been having a really hard time hitting the fat/protein/carb ratio recommended by my trainer AND hitting my calorie target...usually I come in either way too high or way too low. But today I hit the 10/30/60 (fat/protein/carb %) danged near on the nose coming in at 11/28/61 and logged 2217 calories (trainer w...Thursday, August 26th 2010
The year is winding down and the youngsters are going back to school, which means that our fire program is getting desperate for help. Case in point? I was assigned to a fire engine today. Now, I am technically qualified as a very very low level wildland firefighter but I have never been on an active fire and digging line at rookie school dang near killed me. OK, I guess I have been on an "active" fire, but I have yet to see flames. Today was a "red flag warning" day tho...« Previous
