Saturday, Apr 14 2007 - It all starts with me

View ARQUINSTAR's food & exercise for this day

Today is the 14th of April 2007. Many years have come and gone while I slowly crept up the scale to the bigger numbers. I've never been consistantly active and quite honestly never got that "rush" people talk about after working out and that "boy I feel good" feeling either. My top weight was 287 lbs on January 1st of this year. Over the past 3 1/2 months I've already lost 23 lbs just by changing my eating habits and reducing my portions.

My biggest goals are to become a regular excerciser and to improve my overall energy level. In addition I want to set the good example for my kids.

Wow, you're doing great! I, like you, was never an exerciser. It was always a chore, except for the time about 5 years ago that I managed to get into walking, and lost a ton of weight. But I stopped, and it came back... all of it, plus friends. And I told myself I was okay with that. But health issues forced me to see that I wasn't getting younger, and if I wanted to have a good "midlife", I needed to get into shape now. So I joined CK, and over the last 14 weeks, I've managed to lose 38-1/2 lbs. But I also hit the exercise trail again, and have been walking a lot.

If you can get yourself to start doing it, you might find you like it. I don't like getting up early (oh, no!), but I like the quiet of the early morning, and I've met a few wild creatures I haven't seen here before. In particular, there's a little small-eared bunny that travels over about a two block diameter. Who knows what wildlife lives in your area, when it's quiet?

Best of luck on your continued weight loss. With your great start, I'm sure you can reach your goals.
