My Pandora was my "Empty Nester" pup, but grew to so much more. I am a lover of all creatures. Yet she stole my heart in a different way. She had a seizure yesterday afternoon and we rushed her to the vet. Once there she was given a full work-up and blood pulled. We are now waiting for the results of her tests. I am happy she has been acting great since we brought her home from the vets. Of course we are following all the guidelines and keeping things a peaceful as we can. I was just thinking how much my relationship with Pandora has improved my life, she now has me focus on keeping myself and my surrounding stress free for her sake. That then translates to my well-being, stress control. I will be taking a great number of deep breaths in the future and more time in the gym pool. I miss our old house at times as we had a pool there and Pandora loved to swim with me and even used the spa. Yes liked our children and so much more.
I was worried about making my Kiser “Options”, class. Leaving her home was not feeling good for me. Pandora has always traveled well, so what the heck we packed up her water and blankets, made her bed in the back seat and were off. She slept soundly the whole drive and my wonderful husband sat with her while I was in my class. Now it was a rainy day, pouring in fact, so i decided to not use my scooter. Yes i walked the whole way, a bit wobbly but did it. I even managed a short flight of steps. I was welcomed with smiles and after class applauded for my success on walking as well as the loss of three pounds. I have learned the every pound lost reduces the stress and impact on my joints and such six pounds. That means I have reduced that by sixty now. I can do a little walking on dry land. I walked... I also did not let a life crises get in my way of caring for myself.
I also finished my BRONZE today!

Aren't dogs fantastic! They give so much joy and love without expecting much in return. I hope the lab results come out great. Keep us posted.

We had a Bassett / Springer mix that was epileptic. The seizures were scary to see, but ultimately not harmful to him. He lived to a ripe old age and we managed the epilepsy with daily meds.
Congrats on your walking victory. I always suggest that folks celebrate all the little victories along the way, not just numbers on a scale. Cheers!

Aww. Glad to hear that your pup seems to be doing well despite her mishap. And good for you for keeping your healthy routine despite the stress!
