let me be the first to welcome myself to calorieking. my best friend motivated me to join about two months ago, and i have yet to even start on anything, so i figure...what better day than today...

i am currently at about 237 pounds and know that the road ahead of me is long and tiring, but i must do something. four years ago i was 180 pounds, active with my high school cheerleading squad and also working out at the gym every morning for about two hours. after having my third reconstructive surgery on my ankle i pretty much gave up the dieting life. i was stuck in a rut and now i'm trying to dig myself out! hopefully the next few months will find me doing something much better than sitting around the house snacking on whatever i can get my hands on. i know i can do whatever i put my mind to, but it's difficult when all there is to do is go out to eat or hang out at starbucks with your friends. it's time the excuses stop if i want to win the battle with obesity.

when i do loose weight, i will owe it all to my mother and best friend. about five years ago my mom decided to do something about her weight as well. she started going to the gym daily, increasing her self-esteem and eating much healthier...she is now about 100 pounds lighter and as healthy as she's ever been! it's pretty much the same story with denita. i know that with these two by my side, I CAN DO IT! see you at the finish line...
