Tuesday, Feb 6 2007 - My first challenge to myself

View BEAGLE's food & exercise for this day

The first thing I am going to do to make it easier for me to diet without cheating is to completely eliminate the fact that I carry around HUGE amounts of change in my pocket. I am around vending machines all damn day at work and at school, and it's always so easy to just pop a toonie or a loonie in and get a bag of chips or a chocolate bar. Once I found a granola bar in the machine, but never again (and as it turned out, the granola bar was completely defeated by a thick layer of icing across it's top).

So, no more vending machines. If I'm hungry I'll either have to suck it up until I can get to a place that has proper food, or *gasp* plan ahead and pack my meal. This is hard stuff to do, I know.

The reason I'm doing this is that if it weren't for vending machines I am positive I would be at a much healthier weight than I am right now. Because I eat tons of great stuff, salads and chicken and low fat sandwiches, etc. And then a machine catches my eye and NALM NALM NALM DORRITOS. I mean, sure I cheat every now and again with store-bought stuff, but not nearly as often. In the past three months I have had a cheeseburger twice (one of which was a standard mcD's single-patty cheeseburger when there was nothing else to eat, and another an A&W Teen Burger that was, well, just because :( ), and chinese food once. I might also have to cut down on my donairs because even though they aren't like Big Mac disgustingly bad for you, they're still pretty high in fat. Maybe once a week as a treat, and that's it.
