Saturday, Nov 24 2007 - Day 2 with CK

View BEARSMOM's food & exercise for this day

I have logged my breakfast and am off to a running start. Knowing that I have to record everything that I eat makes me more aware of what I am putting in my mouth. I guess that is the whole point of CK. I hope I can make my first week a successful one. I am still not too savvy about how to cut calories and fat other than portion size. I have been reading forums and blogs to get tips on how everyone successful has done it. I have to keep reminding myself that it is a slow process and I will catch on eventually. I still have some CKU to finish also. Hopefully I "get it" by the end of the lessons.

I am going food shopping tomorrow morning. This is my big chance to buy the "right" things for me and my family. Lowfat cheese? Lean meats? I better sit down and think up all the alternatives to the regular stuff. I wonder if I can sneak some ground turkey in there without my husband noticing. Probably not. I know we don't eat enough veggies, but if I buy too much too quickly, I won't know what to do with them all and some may go bad. I hate throwing away veggies. It's like throwing money away. I've done it too many times. I will do my best to shop smart. I keep reading that planning ahead is the key. I may even think up some snacks to prepackage in 100 cal packs for that quick grab snack I probably will want. I feel like I have to out smart myself. It's a weird feeling.

I think I need to set a short term weight loss goal. Is 10 lbs lost by 01.01.08 too much to ask? Maybe I will do my CK best this week, see the results, then decide what my first short term goal is for weight loss.
Anything, right now, would be good. I want to stay motivated.

Hello to Bear (and you) ha---- from a critter lover! He's lovable. Does he like to go on walks? Good luck on your ST goal. I'm betting in your favor that you make the 10# loss!

I think your goal of 10 pounds is definitely doable and fits pretty closely with the CK philosophy which is no more than 2 pounds a week is a good safe rate of weight loss. Good luck and I hope you enjoy CK:clap::clap::):)
