View BECKAMARIE's food & exercise for this day

Wow, It's been awhile since I was the 'last' blogger in my 'group'... almost. Kind of funny.

I took yesterday off to volunteer at the EXPO/Packet pick up/Registration for the Columbus Distance Classic (1/2 marathon).

What a great day! Got up at 6 (slept in over an hour and a half! Ah... BLISS) Ran a smooth 8 miles, went to take my Mom Starbuck's and run over to Pier One with the shopaholic Mommy that I love :)

Then reported for duty at the EXPO. I met John (the Penguin) Bingham. His racing Co. was organizing the race. He has a regular column in Runner's World. He had so much to do with bringing distance running to everybody and changing it's 'elite' sport status. Such a nice guy. I had a great time and met so many awesome people. So worth the time invested.

I feel really good. Ran 52 miles this week and have stayed ON TARGET since Monday!! No going over calories at all! What a difference it makes in your overall well being when you don't 'feel' too full all the time. How quickly I forget how yucky that feels when I encounter a plate of sweets! :)

I am at a crossroads. The Hubby and I weren't planning on going off the pill until after the marathon in May (for obvious reasons) but I am scheduled to start another pack today and I really don't want to. It would really help shed the last few pounds to stay off of it and I barely had my last 2 periods from running so much. (I didn't even wear a panty-liner this last go-around) So I doubt that I will be super fertile. I've never been pregnant and I went off the pill over a year during my first marriage and never conceived. I'm hoping he is okay with the idea. Hopefully he can call me today and I can ask him. His job is insane, especially in the spring so he just tries to check in with me when he can. Ahhhh. I LOVE that man!!!
******* HE JUST CALLED AND SAID OK!!! **** OMG I am so excited!!!!

Tomorrow is the 1/2 marathon! I am so pumped!! The knees are still a pain in the arse but I feel pretty good. The hubby has to work so I am trying to convince a friend to drop me off so I don't have to park and stuff. No biggie, I'll figure it out.

Ready for the weekend, that's fer sure! Saturday is busy as heck but Sunday will be awesome!! The hubby has a 9:30 tee time so I can sleep till 7ish, then walk a couple miles (it's supposed to be a 'rest' day but I can never do that :( ) There's a Caribou Coffee shop 1.2 miles from the house and that is the perfect little jaunt for a sunny Sunday morning. If it's as nice as they are saying (this is Ohio, weatherman don't even have to have a clue about their job, it doesn't matter) I can sit outside and read awhile. Ahhh.... all this is making today seem crappier than ever!

Nuff said! Off with me! Hugs to all!

354 miles run & 3700 crunches since 1/8/06!!
Drink extra water today for race tomorrow!!
Get to try Trader Joes' multigrain pancakes for carb breakfast tomorrow!

################# and later after lunch#############

Ever hear the term 'pride before a fall'. I had to do bein' all puffed up about the no sugar thing this week and then crashed and burned after lunch with a serving of hersheys' kisses and a tootsie roll. Could have been worse. ARGH>
I think I will log them on tomorrow. I think that will work. Then I acknowledge that I ate them, just a day early :). Tomorrow's half marathon will take care of 'em! Take that, you stupid, stupid calories!! :)

Lean Cuisine pizza for dinner PERIOD!
