View BECKAMARIE's food & exercise for this day

Whoo! Lots to say today....

Study was great last night. :y: It has been several weeks since we have gotten together and I was really missing the youngest member of the group.... Cari's 2 yr old daughter, Hannah! She is absolutely precious!

Tara & Nette are training with MIT to run the Columbus half marathon in early October. They are really excited and doing well.... I am so proud of them!

We were talking about prayer. How there are people who have shared that they turn a marathon into something bigger than just a race by praying for a different person every half mile or so... I was so impressed by that.

I remember how selfish I felt when I ran my first marathon and some of the guilt was alleviated because I ran so far away and no one I knew had to be there. I felt better knowing that no one was standing around waiting for me or getting bored just for 'my' little project. I am a very social person and love to be part of a group but I typically enjoy bringing other people into the spotlight, not thrusting myself out in front.
The second marathon that I ran I was equally nervous that Matt would be bored or disenchanted just hanging out for 4 hours in a new city and then to top it off Matt made it seem very important that my parents and brothers should be there.
Obviously Mattty was right. I have never felt more love and support in my life and I was overwhelmed with joy and support and all wrapped up in my husband's basking affections... An experience unlike any other I have ever felt.... but I could go on and on about that.... :$

So.... in preparation for a third marathon in April I will start thinking of those people that I can pray for throughout my race in St Louis. I feel so much peace at being able to make this race more than 'just about me'.

I started this morning on my little 5 miler... Praying for those I hold dear and those that I just barely know but I felt needed the protection or comfort that only God could give. It was nice. No MP3 today, just me and my thoughts and a little rain....

In other news.... Matty is doing great... He got to go out with another guy in town from the corporate offices. I was so happy that he had a chance to get out and get around town a little. I told him he better figure it out before I come to visit! =D

I am so loved!! ... I cannot believe how many friends and family keep checking up on me to see if I am doing OK with Matty out of town! I am so blessed ! :o

Goals and progress... Got up and ran 5 miles in 44 minutes this A.M. !! :y: Pretty good for my slow poke ass. Tomorrow is upper body for an hour and try to sneak in a 2 or 3 mile run after work. So far I have NO commitments for tomorrow night. We'll see how long that lasts....

Um, for those of you keeping up..... no baby this month... :(
I have the 'jelly belly' and crappy cramps to prove it. :@
I sure wish I didn't have to work for Christie tonight. She is so unorganized I will be out ridiculously late....

On the food front... Had my Kefir/berry/flax seed smoothie again today. I added a Tbsp of honey and a dash of vanilla... It's pretty yummy and keeps me full till lunch amazingly. If I had a banana I would have added half of one.... I have a new Kashi Black Bean Mango frozen meal for lunch today... H.G. said they were pretty good. This one is higher in carbs and cal. than I like for lunch but it's all 'good' carbs and cal. and it was a cardio day so I'll justify it today. I got the Cilantro Lime Shrimp for the weekend too. Yum!

Better go.... I love you Matty

:hi: RMM
