Oh Boy.
Happy 'Hump' Day.... as they say. I say Happy 'Almost Matty Day' !! To be precise at this moment approximately 30.5 hours till Matty!!

I am very dissapointed in my eating behavior this week and am ashamed to admit it to Matt. Not like he won't be able to tell

It's not like it's an issue of him being upset at all... it's just that he is such a supporter and I don't want to let him down. He is always rearranging his schedule and life and his own eating habits to accomodate for my needs.... I'm just a little down about my preposterous behavior as of late.... No crazy binging, just bad choices.

Speaking of....
I had a great time with Katie & Becky last night! We shared a bottle of merlot and ordered 2 salads and a pasta dish and kind of shared around. It was a great 'girls night out' time and I adore them both.... Becky & Jack are flying to Lake Tahoe for a wedding this weekend and listening to her account of them shopping for a suit/ shirt & tie for Jack was hilarious. Jack is a portly fellow and his main wardrobe staple is a pair of comfy shorts and a 'Tommy Bahama' shirt. He was less than thrilled about the prospect of a shirt & tie. The saleman was great and convinced J. to go with suspenders so he would be more comfortable about his pants feeling the need to be 'hiked' up all the time.... J. asked if he should wear a belt as well and the salesman told him that 'no, that's when the fashion police start issuing warnings'.
Oh. much. laughter. ensued.

Katie is very dissapointed, er should I say P.O'd. They had already purchased a plane ticket for her to fly to Tahoe as well but she coaches H.S. girls' golf and has a tournament that she cannot miss.
However, the 'estranged' boyfriend from Fla. is coming to stay with her this weekend so I'm sure she will perk up shortly.

Oh all the drama Matty!! You are missing it. and I know it's causing you to cry yourself to sleep at night...

Today....
I did get up to run but cut it short because of the knee. I did some weights though and worked up a good sweat. Running in 48 degrees = pure joy.
I am so looking forward to running in this fall weather... I really don't mind winter too much as well. I trained all winter for the Flying Pig last year and as long as there isn't any ice I'm good to go!

Did I mention that I get to see Matty is app. 30 hours????

MIL had the driveway resurfaced (blacktop) yesterday. It looks ... well, it looks ..'blacker' I guess. Anyways, in all the activity the darling neighbor ( that I mow the lawn for ) had a scare yesterday.
He has 80% blockage in just about every area of his heart and arteries in his neck... I think he is in his 80's... (He flew bombers in WWII)
They decided about 6 mo. or so ago when he had some trouble that it would be too much stress to actually do surgery so he would just have to pay close attention and take it gently from now on....
So.... they took him via the emergency squad to the hosp. yesterday. MIL told me about 5pm and I had some time before dinner so I rushed over to the hosp. to see him. He was so surprised and happy to see me. I was happy to see him as well He looked pretty good. The EKG did not show that he had an actual heart attack but I'm sure that if he hadn't gotten immediate treatment in the squad he prolly would have had worse results. They had him on baby aspirin and nitro right away.
Gene is like a grandfather to me and I got a little teary when I got to his room. I hope he gets to come home today. I won't be around to give him a homecoming visit but I can stop in Sunday evening when I get in from Jersey...

-move Matt's truck away from the very end of the driveway
