Happy Turkey Day!! :)

I slept in till 6:45a.m.!! ;) I crept out of the sleeping house to my race at about 7:30....
Of course after starting the car and scraping the frost off the windshield I suddenly remembered that my bib # was still on the dresser. Sheesh. :$ That would have sucked.... :n:
It was barely 30 degrees but bright and they had a tent to block any wind while we waited for the start time....
I always get to races way too early and tried to bounce around in the cold for an hour with 1,000 other runners until the ol' air horn blew.
It wasn't a chip race and to the best of my stop watch I finished the 4 miler in 34:46.... works for me!
As usual I went by myself but saw several running friends there =D It's always so good to catch up.
We had to park at a high school .75 mile from the start line and the walk back to the car was a nice warm down. One of the perks was a bottle of french wine and we all felt funny walking down the road with a bottle of wine... :teeth3:
It came in handy when going to our friend's later in the evening.. I hate going to someone's home empty handed.
After the race I stopped at Starbucks ( :hi: Cin!) and brought coffee home to Matt and MIL. Then I showered, packed for the farm trip, loaded up food and we headed to the 'Rents for lunch...
It was perfect. Plenty of good choices for me and I had a couple cups of coffee with creamer instead of dessert so I stayed right on target!
We left Mom & Dad's around 4:30 to see some friends and their family and had a fabulous time there...
I had a dollop of real whipped cream in yet another cup of coffee, but hey, it kept me out of the chocolate bourbon cake and apple pies...
We left there much later than planned but I was caffiened up and Matt wanted to go ahead and head down to his Uncle's if I felt like driving.
So we got in about 11pm. I hadn't eaten since the Thanksgiving meal at about 1:30... I hadn't planned on being up so late and I was starving! But I would not ruin the day! Matt made a bologna sandwich and I stole one bite. It did just the trick! We crawled into bed and slept in together till 7:30.

It was a great Turkey Day

950 miles run in 2006.... 50 to go!!
