BECKAMARIE's CalorieKing blog

Thursday, Mar 15 2007 - It's my favorite time of day! ... LUNCH!!

View BECKAMARIE's food & exercise for this day

I have leftovers to nuke from dinner last night... There is something I love about leftovers. They are warm and the flavors are all melded together from a slumber party in the fridge the night before.
Thank goodness Matty doesn't mind leftovers either. Cause that's what he packed today. :)

Tonight I am making my Mom's 'Meatball Stew' recipe. She has made it for years although I have no idea where it originated from. It's great after a slumber party in the fridge too. :laugh5:

I am thinking that homemade pizza and pasta salad should be on the menu this weekend... not necessarily at the same meal. The MIL is going to be away Friday and Saturday night at a retreat so I am thinking quick and no fuss.

Hopefully, the Matty and I can squeeze in a movie this weekend and at least one nap. I slept about an hour and a half last Sunday afternoon and it was luscious.

We were up a bit after 10:00 last night redoing the laminate floor at the top of the stairs. It took 3 attempts and about $50. worth of wasted flooring because I made a major measuring error. :(
If it can be done incorrectly the first attempt on this remodeling job, it will. The only consolation is that what has finally been completed looks great and I am very pleased.

All of you midwesterners will nod when I say that this weather roller coaster, although normal, is considerably depressing. We had piles of snow up until a couple of weeks ago and then the last 2 days have reached highs in the 70's. This morning it was below 30 in some areas nearby and either over an inch of rain or icey rain, depending on if you were at the freezing temps yet. There's an old wives tale that we still get 3 snowfalls AFTER the Forsythia bush blooms and guess what, it's not even close to blooming yet. Blech. We all love our seasons changing around here but we are never more ready for a new season than we are in March.

All the seeds and starter supplies are out at Lowe's and Home Depot and it makes me drool. I want to beef up my herb bed that Matty made me on the side of the house and work harder on the veggie garden this year. Yum, Yum.

I am feeling kind of funny today. Kind of twingey around Eggbert(a) and funny, shooting pains in my neck. I am sure I am fine and it's just the end of a long week of sitting at a computer but it did cross my mind that my new insurance doesn't kick in till the 19th and that bites.

It is so good to be back at CK catching up on all my friends!! I really missed you all and I am so glad that I got back into blogging. I can't play as much on the site, but I like to keep a personal journey that maybe one day my children can laugh at. Ha ha.

Hugs to all!
-Becka

Yup, me too on the twingy thing. I loved reading all the descriptions of how it felt (butterfly wings, blowing bubbles through a straw etc.) And I agree with Callie - it makes me kinda want to do it again - but that won't be happening anytime soon. Guess I can still practice tho :eyebrows:

Yes, I third the eggbert(a) movement!!! I felt my first one around 15 weeks, thought I had gas bubbles floating around and my momma said it was the baby...very neat indeed! And I think you are around the right time for it! And we call Forsythia's Yellow Bells and they've been blooming big time for about a week now!

They won't laugh at your personal journal but love ever bit of it. I kept a paper journal when I was expecting my daughter and her and I read it a couple of weeks ago. She thought it was wonderful since I wrote it about 16 years ago. Your children will love it too.

So glad your back! Our weather has been pretty rollercoaster as well. Yesterday was almost 70 and this weekend a Northeaster....I hope they're wrong. I missed you.

ooooohhh, I second the movement theory. Either that or ligaments stretching, but thinking that it's the movement of the baby is so much more exciting! And yeah, it is a pretty strange feeling at first. I always described it to Eric that in the beginning it feels like I would imagine the feeling of a butterfly's wings on my palm. Kind of fluttery and as though a bubble just bumped you. :( That made me sad to remember, and kind of made me want to do it again! ;)

Twingey around eggbert? How far along are you now? That may be the first twinges of movement you're feeling momma! I felt it for the first time around 18 weeks. By 20 weeks or so I definitely knew what I was feeling, although it wasn't real "kicks" yet. Felt like someone was blowing bubbles into a drink through a straw or popcorn popping from the inside - hard to describe, but you'll know it when it happens to you.
