Weekend recap…
Matty got SO much done in the Baby’s room! Most of the trim is up and we are pretty much on schedule to be ready to start our room while MIL is out of town so we can sleep in her bed those few days that our bed is torn down. I spent most of the weekend filling nail holes and patching gaps between the square trim and the not so square walls. I really like my little patching responsibilities. It gives me something to do while Matt doesn’t need me to hold a piece of trim up or help with something else… And then I am not just sitting around while he is working. I have a real job!

My parents stopped by yesterday which was nice. My Mom loves the new room and it just makes me smile and so proud that she is so happy with what Matty has accomplished. You know how sometimes you have a project ‘idea’ in your mind but the finished product doesn’t look quite like the picture in the magazine? This looks even better than the pictures. It looks like it came straight out of the Better Homes and Gardens Magazine. I can’t wait to go get new bedding for our room and choose crib bedding and baby stuff. There are big white built in bookshelves in the Baby’s room and I want to get baskets for the lowest shelf and line them with pretty fabric to store diapers and receiving blankets and such. It just looks so perfect I can’t even begin to explain it! I’ll get Matty to help me post some pictures sometime next month.

We have a busy weekend up ahead so we need to try to keep up on the room a little each night. Friday night is a huge party that is at a friend’s. It is traditionally my night to ‘imbibe’ as it may be but this year I will be refraining. The host is a good friend of Matt’s and a very nice guy. He owns a landscaping company in town and is a big game hunter. If you’ve ever been to a Cabela’s store… that is what the inside of his huge home looks like. His taxidermy is beautifully displayed. Anyways, it will be a great time and we always look forward to it.
Saturday is the Safari Club Int’l. Annual Banquet and silent auction. A couple years ago they auctioned a pure bred black lab puppy and they held him up last. He was so adorable and had been all around the room all night. A father bought it for his maybe 14 yr old son. He was so excited, it was precious. Another great night to look forward to. All the proceeds go toward wildlife conservation internationally…. Mostly exotics that are being poached. Elephant, Zebra, Hippos, White Tigers, etc. All hunting organizations are great supporters of wildlife conservation and protection. It’s a joy and a hobby that they want to keep it healthy and be able to experience the outdoors to the best that it can provide. We have several friends that we only see at this event. Matt’s best man (lives up near Monica! ) may come down and stay for the night.

11:22:15 --- P.S. I forgot to tell you all how wonderful my facial felt on Friday! I have actually fallen asleep during one before… It was very nice and then Mom was going to do a polis change on my nails and paint them killer red but she had a pedicure walk-in so I skeedaddled. Then we went to dinner with an old co-worker and his wife (April) who is due 10 days before me…. And they had invited another couple as well… I might have a new running buddy! She lives close to me and if I keep feeling better I will get out and build some endurance. It’s really hard to breathe with this pregnancy so I need to watch the heart rate but hopefully I can do it safely.

Oh, and about that little basketball game on Saturday… I nearly had heart failure. Matt had absolute confidence in them even to the end and I had given up long before. A successful 3 pt shot in the final 2 seconds gave us the OT to come back and win by 7 pts. Scary!!
