Dear You,

Just a quick check in to capture a few thoughts… :)

We left for Geneva (Ohio, that is) after work on Friday. We stopped for dinner at a greasy spoon and stayed overnight halfway up. The restaurant was fun and quiet. Our waitress was the sweetest thing but she took forever getting back to the table all through the meal and when she was there, she talked and talked and talked. :laugh5: She told me all about her weekly ritual throughout her pregnancy (at least 18 years prior) of cabbage balls, spicy mustard and a chocolate milkshake. She swears that her son still loves spicy mustard. She was very cute, but we were ready to crash by the time we got out of there.

Matt had gotten a room with two beds and was really sheepish about telling me at dinner. :$ But I tell you what, I practically squealed with delight at the contemplation of sprawling across my own bed. Except that I had forgotten to pack extra pillows… :(

My snoring has gotten so bad this past week or so that Matt can’t sleep on the same room with me. I am picking up ‘breathe right’ strips tonight. I hope they help. I hate waking in the night and realizing that I have chased him out to the couch again… :cry2:

Saturday I spent 12 hours at a scrap-booking workshop laughing till I cried and my belly ached. It was a great time, full of good natured humor and motherly anecdotes. The ladies were all so sensitive to my comfort and I got to see women I see once a year and meet new friends as well. It was a great day actually… Although I was sooooo tired when I fell into bed.

Sunday we hung out at the house and spent time together with our hosts and their 3 young sons. Matty played 18 holes by himself at a course in the afternoon close by and a friend came over with her 2 young daughters for dinner.

Monday Matty golfed with friends and I hung around the house and kept an eye on the little guys till after noon while Cindy ran some errands on her own. I’m sure she gets very little time to drive around in peace and quiet. The boys played on their little bikes and ran themselves ragged. Then we opted to stay in, watch pizza and watch ‘Barnyard’ instead of go out. We had thought about Geneva On The Lake, but the kids were tired and I think Cindy and I even more so, and we all crashed in the living room and watched the movie.

Tuesday we had a lazy morning, Matty catching some pond fishing and I ran into ‘town’ to get some necessities for Cindy so she could stay in the rest of the day. Then we headed back to Columbus around noon. I read Chelsea’s race report on the way home and Matt and I both shed a few tears. Chels, I cannot tell you how much it means that you took the time to share so much with us!

We stopped for a late lunch when we got in close to home on our way to Bob and Stacey’s July 4th party. We always have a good time but I shed a little tear when I had to pass on the jello shots… (Just kidding!) The guys always make a big trip to the fireworks stand and sign all the appropriate waivers claiming that yes, they are purchasing these explosives in the state of Ohio, but no of course they don’t intend on shooting them off in the state of Ohio. :)

They produce quite a show and it was much nicer than working through a giant crowd somewhere else to see some fireworks. :y:

Last night we went to see another couple’s beautiful new home and see my pregnant buddy. April is officially 10 days ahead of me on due dates… (oh, some of you have asked… my official due date is still Sep. 6) But I am more often measuring a week under and April is measuring a couple weeks over so we may have these little ones closer to a month apart.

That was the weekend in a nutshell… Matty has the remainder of the week off, hoping to get some golf in. It looks like the weather may hold out so I hope he does get some nice rounds in.

Here we are, into July and every weekend is booked! Are we ever going to have time to finish the bedroom? Yikes. :)

Love and Hugs, Rebekah & Baby Matty

It sounds like a great little vacation and I can't tell you how touching it is that YOU and Matty took the time to read my race report on your vacation. Thank you!!!

Ooooh - Sept 6! Its okay if you are a week under - but no more. We leave for Nova Scotia on the 27th of Sept. and I couldn't stand not knowing he was here and seeing a pic of him! Also - first time moms are sometimes late anyway - so... Glad you had a great few days, but oh my - soooo busy. Bet little Matty is tired from just ridin' around inside his busy momma!

Wow, Sept 6! That is only two more months! The time has really flown! Sorry to hear about the snoring. I make Kevin wear those breathe-right strips sometimes, his allergies make the snoring bad!
