BECKAMARIE's CalorieKing blog

Tuesday, Mar 18 2008 - Tuesday... Day 5

View BECKAMARIE's food & exercise for this day

So I’m a scale watcher. I confess. :$ And I don’t feel bad about it. I will not change my weight in the CK system every day but I will weigh every day. Because I HAVE TO!! I just do.

And the scale went up .5 this morning. :P But that’s okay. I am nursing and Matty ate an hour earlier than he did yesterday so I’m counting a few oz. there… :wink3:

I stayed well within calories yesterday… As a matter of fact, this is day 5 with no slip ups!

I vowed to only take the stairs in our building and I work on the 4th floor so yesterday without taking any unnecessary trips, purely work related stair climbing, I got in 708 stairs! (up & down) That’s pretty cool.:cool1:

A co-worker and I have committed to help whoever is willing to start training for the Columbus Marathon starting this coming Saturday. We are doing the Jeff Galloway walk/run method since most of them are non-runners. At this point with my weight, I really need to start there too. It is amazing how quickly your body loses fitness ability. And I know that my blood pressure isn’t getting any favors with the weight and all so I really need to get active again. This feels like great timing so I hope it works out well for everyone. We are hosting a handful of what we call ‘Lunch & Learns’ around here where you bring your packed lunch in and we present a 30 min power point and informal info. session on different topics. I have ‘Shoes’ this Thursday. Then we will do ‘Nutrition’ and ‘Gear’. I am a pretty low maintenance runner, I don’t really have that many pieces of clothing to work out in and I have my trusty Sony MP3 player (thanks Honey! ) and my digital watch (thanks Honey! ). I rarely carry water, I think because I run so early in the day typically that I never seemed to mind pounding out 18 miles or more without carrying water. I am not condoning this type of behavior, it just seems to work for me. Brandon, my associate, has every gadget known to mankind. He wears a Camelback, he has closets full of clothes, he has several Garmins, wears a HRM, you name it, he has it. So it is kind of nice that we can approach running from different views. One thing for certain, neither of us are extremely fast. Yes, qualifying for Boston is something I know I could do with the proper training and losing the weight but I am more interested in distance. Ultras are the goal I am really excited about.

Someday….
So for now, happy Tuesday! :thumbu2:

15:45 IS IT SERIOUSLY ONLY TUESDAY!?!:bang:

Climbed 290 stairs today :y:

Research has shown that people who weigh every day do a better job with both losing and maintaining weight. It helps keep many people on track. So do what you are comfortable with. And the baby is adorable!

As long as you are watching it and not allowing it to manipulate you, you'll be fine! As for the running, I admire anyone that even thinks about running a marathon!
