I HAVE TO QUIT!!!!SMOKING!!!! My husband is home today and I'm at work. I have not seen him in over 2 weeks and I have to choose today to work....sigh..I miss him. But I got up early this morning to go out for a run without guilt of having the kids in the day care at the YMCA. They were all in bed still at 6:00am when I got out the door. I streatched out and walked about 1/4 mile to loosen my bones after a nights sleep. When I got done walking I started to run. I made it that same 1/4 mile and thought I was going to die! My lungs were burning. I wanted to hack and cough and spit out all the nasty stuff that was stuck in my chest. So I stoped running and decided to briskly walk 2 mile or more. I got that done without a problem but I am really upset that I had such a hard time breathing during my "run".
There is only one thing to do, but I'm scared. I have smoked sence I was 16 and now I'm 28. I'm scared I will not be able to control my cravings and reach for food. I'm scared that I will not be any fun when I go out with friends. I'm scared I will fail. I will finish this pack (about 10 smokes) and then give it a shot. I was going to wait till I reached my goal weight before trying. I'm afraid that I will never make it there if I don't quit now.

Why I hate smoking....
The smell
The taste
The cost
The nasty looks you get
75% chance my children will start
The addiction factor (I hate to be dependant on anything)
The smoking hang over (headaches)
My husband hates it
My burnning lungs
Insurance costs more
possability of all the medical problems
the Butt mess
Yellow teeth

Why I do it...
3 of my closest friends and family do it (I see one or more of them 3-4 times a week)
Social time with other smokers
Break from kids...(I smoke out side)
Something to look forward to with coffee

Not really an even trade. Sigh...

:wave1: Quiting smoking is very hard..but you can do it...You have to do it. for yourself and your family...I quit about 10 years ago after smoking for over 40 years...I did it cold turkey...with no problems. There are alot of things on the market through your doctor to help you if needed....If I could do it you can do it...It is already affecting your health..as you found out while running...You can do it....Have a good day..:)
