AGH! This is driving me nuts. Every day I go to the gym; and every day I sweat on the cardio machines watching people work out on the floor below. I've been listening to more of Tom Venuto's interviews where he talks about the importance of weight training. Most recently I listened to his training techniques for bodybuilding. He talks about the importance of squats and dead lifts for mass building... but I can do none of that right now.

I had hernia surgery on 11/5. I had hoped to hear that I could resume life as normal in the gym at my 6 week checkup... but the doctor told me that I shouldn't do anything strenuous (meaning more than cardio) for 3 months - minimum. February 5 seems so far away!

Nothing makes you want to do something more than being told not to do it. The longer I go without weight training, the more I feel like my arms, back and chest are shrinking away. Well - the good news is that muscle memory should help me recover anything I lose. Tom told some amazing recovery stories about regaining muscle mass that was lost due to accidents and injury.

Well - thats okay. I really should concentrate on making my foods better before I jump into weight training anyway.
