WOOHOO! I BROKE 240! That's the first 10 gone in 4 weeks

Weekly Intake and the Results
I couldn't be happier with my progress. 10 lbs in 4 weeks. I've been doing some number crunching this morning and it looks like my net weekly calorie intake needs to be between 13000 and 13750 to be in a 30% deficit. 17500 is what I need to maintain my weight.

I went back to my CalorieKing charts to see my intake numbers for each of these 4 weeks. The results are very interesting!

Week 1: 13477 = 6 lb loss... (mostly water weight)
Week 2: 13912 = 1 lb loss...
Week 3: 16252 = 0.5 lb gain (water weight - as this is still 1000 calories below maintenance)
Week 4: 13364 = 4 lb loss

Week 3 was a high carb high sodium week, so I was very likely retaining water... I wish there were some way to get water out of the equasion. Even though the weight appears to be coming off in fits and starts, my clothes were getting loose gradually. Given the large jump in the week 4 weigh in, I probably lost fat in week 3.

Calorie Cycling
What you can't see in the weekly totals is the calorie cycling that I'm doing to keep my body out of starvation mode. My goal is to eat 3 days at 1750 calories and one day at 2500 (my maintenance level). I've done fairly well for just starting out on this plan... but there is definitely room for improvement.

10 Pounds Per Pant Size?
I'm male, 6'2... and I've noticed a correlation between weight and pant sizes. It seems like when I gain 10 lbs, I go up a pant size. For example, 240 lbs for me is a size 40 waist. 250 was a size 42. I'm curious if this is true for anyone else. I imagine height will affect the growth/shrink rate.
