View BRIENMALONE's food & exercise for this day
Yesterday was a near perfect food day (for my current goals). I ate exactly what I planed to eat. My intake was within 100 calories of maintenance and my macro ratios (17% fat 26% protein and 57% carbs) are pretty friggin good! I hit my 650 calorie exercise target yesterday morning, too!
On Track for 2 Lbs
In my blog yesterday, I said I felt like I had gained a little weight even though I don't know how that would be possible given my intake. At the end of the blog I was trying to tell myself not to step on the scale. I prefer to weigh myself on Saturday only because it gives a better picture of how I've been doing the past week.
But... I weighed myself as soon as I woke up this morning. And it turns out I am dead on target. My goal is to lose 2 lbs a week... It's mid-week, and I've lost 1 lb. WOOT!
But ... All is Not Perfect.
When I got up this morning, I just couldn't convince myself to work out. I was exhausted even though I went to bed around 8:30pm. As I was writing my blog today, I looked back over my net calorie chart for the week. I thought I ate my 2500 on Tuesday, but I only made it to 2071! That's not enough to keep me out of starvation mode! $%&#!
Right Plan, Wrong Day
Had I eaten 2500 calories on Tuesday, everything would have been looking great for the week! But as it is, I had planned to make today a low day, too - which would be day 5 with a calorie deficit!! (The rule of thumb is if you go more than 3 days below your maintenance level calories, you risk lowering your metabolism.
The Fix
I'm taking it up to 2500+ or more today to be on the safe side, then low on Fri, Sat and Sun.
As a side note - I really miss my flax enhanced bread. I'm eating this double fiber stuff. It's nice and soft, but it burns too fast. I'm getting hungry in the mornings now.

Today
This was another good day. After dinner, I still had another 300 calories left, so I decided to have a treat. I seem to come up just a little short at the end of every day... I'm going to work on tomorrow's menu to see if I can add a few more calories.

You nare doing FANTASTIC,just don`t over analyze too much. Your more scientific method is really doable and I lke how you are tweaking it constantly to get it right. I am hoping by the end of next week I can have something tweaked. I did have a low day yesterday,so I think I may have saved my week,we will see. I will have low days today and tomorrow. I checked and I did not gain as of yet from those high days. I am so nervous to eat that amount for maintenance but there is obviously some truth to those formulas. Do not sweat not working out that morning, your body was trying to tell you something. I went to bed at 8:00 a lso because I am fighting a sinus infection, just started.

Have you tried the flax tortilla chips from Trader Joe's? They are great. And thanks for the if you go low 3 days in a row - i didn't know that. I thought it would take a great deal of time longer than that, like 3 weeks. Good job! Is your wife also on a program? My husband is resisting which makes things so much harder for me.

okay, just kidding. You upload the photo to your ftp site (or photobucket, whatever). Get the url. paste it between this: [img] and then close it with the backslash before the img. comprende? Give it a whirl and let me know how you make out....
