I tend to repeat things in my blog to keep good messages in focus. The more I talk about the "plan" the less likely I am to deviate from it. SO... with that in mind...
The Plan
Burn 650 calories per day on low calorie days (rest optional on high calorie days)
Net 1850 calories on low days and 2500 on high days.
Aim for macronutrient ratios of: 15-20% fat, 25-30% protein, and 50-55% carbs
Eat as many whole foods as possible - prefereably lean, nutrient and fiber dense foo...

[9:30am] Major burst of energy during the workout today! Two times I had this uncontrolable urge to sprint - so away I went! It felt
amazing.
Surplus?
Thing is - I haven't felt that before (well - not in years) and as much as I'd like to credit my low-sodium, whole-food lunch, I wonder if I went into calorie surplus yesterday. If I didn't and that is what maintenance feels like on a workout day - I can't WAIT to be done with the fat loss phase. Wow.

I'm blown away by how important the right macronutrient balance is. Over the weekend I went into a low-carb mode (accidentally) and completely threw off my training schedule not to mention my mood and energy level. After bringing my carbs up to 50% on Monday, I was completely back to normal Tuesday morning.

[9:30am] So... Low carbs = Low energy and low motivation. Man... I've been trying to figure out why I've been so edgy and couldn't keep it together for my morning workout. When I checked my food journal it wasn't hard to spot.
Friday
I wrapped up an excellent high calorie day with fantastic ratios:
15% fat, 35% protein and 50% carbs.
That is dead on target for my plan.
Saturday
I powered through 850 calories of cardio thanks to the rest and balanced intake on Friday. Ex...

Oops - Crash
I was really surprised - when I headed in for my workout this morning, I felt great, but I hit the wall after half an hour! I guess it's not so easy to just add 200 calories more work to your day. I did my 850 calorie workout in the late afternoon yesterday instead of the early morning, so I suppose I just didn't have enough time to recover.
Spring Cleaning in January?
This was a busy weekend! We spent most of the morning doing a "whole house cleaning". As soo...
