Wife canceled Weight Watchers because I'm doing so well with CK!
Amy has been paying $40/mo for meetings she doesn't attend and food she doesn't eat. I've been doing so well with CK that she told me last night she wants to know what I'm doing and how I'm doing it. Now THAT is flattering.
Frankly, I don't think she is quite ready to commit... The messages I'm hearing aren't quite right. Everything she says with regard to starting are "have to" and "guess I should" so...

Tracking foods can either be prescriptive or descriptive - meaning you either write your foods down ahead of time and eat them (prescribing your diet) or you write your foods down after the fact (describing your diet). the closer you get to prescription, the more likely you are to succeed in your fitness goals.

5 Week Progress Photo
I've lost about 14 lbs to-date... and I have to confess, the pictures don't show much. It looks like my moobs are a bit smaller but you can't really see much else! Bummer!
(For the uninitiated, "moobs" are man boobs - You can thank my wife for introducing me to that hilarious word.)

Payback
Whew. 1100 calories burned on the elliptical today... Payback for the junk I ate yesterday. I really should have gone to the gym last night, but it got to be too late. I was 550 calories over maintenance yesterday, so I really needed to be on my game today.
I adjusted my plan to aim for a 25% deficit on my low day which is about 1850 calories. As I've mentioned in several posts, my plan is to eat my maintenance calories every day (appx 2500) and use exercise to create the defic...

At a 23% deficit I lost 4 lbs in a week. At 18% I lost 3 lbs in a week. It is so odd to think that I need to eat more and slow down when I have a hard time eating enough to make my target calories (well... when I work out anyway).
30% Low, 0% High
Because I'm cycling with low and high calorie days, my low days have been around 30% and the high days have been at maintenance. With two high days per week, the average calorie deficit is around 21%. If I do 750 calories of cardio 5 days per ...
