BRIENMALONE's CalorieKing blog

Tuesday, Feb 12 2008 - Oh Dear... Sushi

View BRIENMALONE's food & exercise for this day

Sushi. Mmmmm.
So, my wife and I realized that we work 10 miles apart... and that our (almost 3 year old) son is in pre-school 3 days out of the week. "Why don't we meet one day a week for lunch?"

Amy was able to sell the water rower that we had downstairs, so we celebrated with Sushi on our first lunch date. (I love rowing, but the water rower handle was too narrow for my frame... It killed my poor wrists.)

Mmm. Sushi is happy food.

My wife and I shared our dishes... and about halfway through I went "Uh oh! I have no clue how much I have just eaten!" I took my best guess when I logged in a few minutes ago. Holy smokes - that was a lot of calories. I'm basically done for the day unless I work out when I get home. D'Oh!

Lazy
I was a giant slacker this morning and just laid in bed instead of working out (Even though I woke up in plenty of time! GRR!) Tuesday mornings are really tough. School runs Tuesday to Monday, and every Monday I have a project or a paper due... So I'm always burning the midnight oil... but I did most of my work on Sunday this week - So I was in bed by 10:30! No Excuse!

[Evening...]
Wow. Swing and a miss for me today. Amy made a fantastic veggie lasagna but had no clue what the nutrient content or calories were. I'm starting to regain the ability to gauge food calories on sight (and feel)... I think I ate around 400 calories worth... Maybe 375, but I prefer to be pessimistic. CK has a veggie lasagna so I used that for macronutrient values.

The two snack packs of chips ahoy were a bit of a problem. The "hell-with-its" got me last night. Dumb Dumb Dumb. If I hadn't eaten those, I would have been at maintenance for the day... Instead, I went 300 calories over. Last night, I had Cadbury Mini-eggs before bed. At least I measured the calories before eating them - and kept to budget...

It's time to get it together. I'm cleared to work out - so let's weight train and keep foods together, shall we?
