Well, I'm off to a better start this morning. I finished my paper for school around 8:30pm, so I worked ahead for this week and went to bed at 10pm. At 5:30am my eyes opened. I laid there for a few minutes before getting up at 5:45. I got dressed for the gym, but went downstairs to load my MP3 player with the text-to-speech audiobook that I have been formatting.

I had a half cup of oatmeal (unflavored) to fuel up.

Weight Training really does make a huge difference. With the ab workout this morning, I have completed one round of "break-in" training on all major muscle groups. Yes, everything is sore - but it's not debilitating pain... nothing I can't work through.

First Leg Day... Okay... Ow.

Holy cow. This was my first leg training day in ... years?

Here is the break-in routine I used for legs (and shoulders). Just like the upper body work on day 1, this workout routine is composed of 4 modified compound supersets.

Day 2: Quads/Hamstrings, Calves/Shoulders
Dumbbell is abbreviated DB

DB Squats 15-20 Reps, 90 secs (rest)
Lunges 15-20 Reps, 90 secs

Ballet Squats 15-20 Reps, 90 secs
Stiff Legged Dead-lifts 15-20 Reps, 90 secs

The Strangeness in This Life...

Okay... How does this work, exactly? By my accounting, I just had the worst diet and exercise week since I started. I worked out three days last week (barely)... I went 300 over on my high day and then had a binge day where I ate TWO DAYS worth of calories.

So someone please explain to me how I lost 2.5 lbs and almost 2% bodyfat???

Best Laid Plans...

Intentions
I started the day with great intentions (as usual). I ate exactly on schedule - even ate exactly according to my planned meals. A co-worker brought around a tin of cupcakes and offered one to me. I politely refused. She looked very hurt and she told me that she had baked them. Sigh. "I'll take one, please" I said trying to rescue the moment.
