View BRIENMALONE's food & exercise for this day
Welp... I'm nearing the end of my last day as a 35 year old. Time to move on to that next bubble on the demographic forms *laugh*
O 26-35 ...
O 36-45
You may have noticed that my incessant blogging and food tracking has dropped off sharply. I have to be honest, I was on my way off track before the vacation, and after - I'm still off.
Here is a quick catch-up for the week:
[edit]
I just wrote 3 paragraphs about things that had nothing to do with diet and exercise. Incorrect focus is exactly the problem.
About two weeks ago, my mp3 player died. This was my emersion tool... the way I was staying on top of everything fitness related. It kept me focused on my plans and goals. When it died, I bought an iTouch (basically an iPhone without the phone) and loaded it up with a few videos; but haven't put my audio books on it yet... So at night, instead of listening to fitness books, I'm watching B-Movies on my 4.2" screen.
The vacation completely disrupted my 'whole foods' routine (because I let it) I packed fruit and even some cottage cheese for the trip, but only ate part of it.
On Monday, I had a mountain of school work to do - so much that I burned a vacation day to get it done. I ate my 4 good meals... but because I was stressing, I added junk on top of that... like 8 oz of frozen yoghurt or mini packs of oreos.
Tuesday, my computer started acting up, so I upgraded to Vista. When you're a computer nerd, reinstalling your computer is a GIGANTIC PAIN IN THE NECK. I have so many utilities and specialized configurations that it takes DAYS of concerted effort to get everything reloaded. I started reloading around 8pm and didn't get to bed until 1am.
I woke up at 7am Wednesday completely wiped out. I had my usual breakfast PLUS two snack packs (that's an additional 340 calories)... then ate my usual meals and snacks. I left work at 6pm and picked up Arby's for dinner. When I walked in the door, I was just in time to find my wife and son on their way out the door to soak in the hottub. I ate 1 roast beef sandwich, some curly fries and a cup of milk.
I actually ate french fries. Yuck.
I'm not THAT far off the wagon. I'm still making my soup and I'm still eating my low sodium cottage cheese and fruit for snacks, but I'm eating junk, too! (For example, as I sat down to write this, I ate a serving of Trader Joe's meringue cookies) And I haven't been to the gym since Tuesday of last week. GRR!
I feel pretty disgusting... and I'm up about 3 lbs. This is the time to stop the spiral. I need to do three things tonight: 1) write this blog, and 2) put those friggin audio books on my iTouch and start listening again.
After that, I need to go to bed by 10pm and get up by 5:30 and GO TO THE GYM!
