View BRIENMALONE's food & exercise for this day
And a happy Lá Fhéile Phádraig to all (That's St. Patrick's Day in Gaelic)
Saturday we headed downtown for a little Irish festival put on by the House of Ireland. They served Irish Stew, soda crackers, bangers (mild sausage) and rolls.
They had a dance troupe of little girls with their hair done up in tight springy curls doing sean-nós (traditional Irish dance) - bouncing like pogo sticks with their legs twisting in the air in geometric, if unnatural-looking ways. Live local musicians fiddled and flouted through jigs and ballads. In between the acts, members of the house read passages from St. Patrick.
Living in California, land of the polished pop shows, this simple, cute show was really endearing. It was a bit like watching a passion play in a small town.

Good food today. I was completely on target for 5 of the 6 meals I ate today. I wrapped up the day with a rather large dessert, but total calories were appx 2500 - so I am at least in the right ballpark. I'm still trying to get to sleep and stay asleep so I can get to the gym on time.
I was brave enough to weigh myself this morning. The good news? After 2 (maybe more) weeks of falling off the wagon, I was only up 2 lbs.
I have to get going with cardio. With cardio comes motivation. With motivation comes repetition.

Ha! Ha! I made J.P. go to Riverdance with me when it came to Memphis. I look back now and still laugh at him walking down the isle with two huge cups of beer in his hands... both for him. It was his way of getting through it... What ya'll won't do for us
;) I am still laughing...

I might be of Irish decent but I'll never get traditional Irish dances. They just look so unnatural. The music I love but the dancing just doesn't have the same effect. still watching young ones perform is its own reward.
