I really underguessed on my calories today.
Spinach and Strawberries
My wife made more smoothie than she could eat. I dumped some protein powder in and half a banana and polished off the whipped 24oz cup of fruit. There was a lot of air in the mix apparently because the ingredients only totaled about 300 or so.
My wife bought this huge container of strawberries -- probably 6 quarts in size. I packed two small containers for my snacks today which weighed in at about 100g each. I t...

Tools for Saying on Track
In my last blog, I talked about the parts of my regimen that slipped on day 79, but didn't get around to discussing why some things stuck while others didn't. Otter posted this great article in her blog about the day when most new year's resolution diets fail. For some reason, people who start a new routine on January 1 seem to stop on or around March 18. There is something about the 78th day of a diet that causes people to give up.
I didn't start my 'diet' on new year's as part of any resolution... I started December 9, 2007. Want to hear something funny? Looking back over my charts, my resolve and focus died abruptly starting 2/26/08.

It is amazing how good a
whole food meal makes you feel inside. I just polished off some of my "famous" homemade soup.
Brien's Soup (high carb/low fat version)
10oz baked potato + skin
4 oz of cooked chicken breast
1 cup of Imagine organic soup (tomato basil)
2 servings of broccoli and cauliflower.
(550 calories)
It's a huge meal - I eat it from a 1 liter container (4.7 cups) and it is almost full. Brien's Soup is a bit bland to eat without salt, but eat it ...

I finally... FINALLY got back to the gym. WOOT! At 6:30am, I parked myself on a rowing machine for about half an hour listening to the Body Sculpting Bible.
