Flu

I decided to rewrite this blog entry because the original was a bit whiny ;)

I've had bronchitis for a few days now - doctor put me on antibiotics and said "no cardio". I'm hoping that once the antibiotics are done, I'll be ready to get back to the gym.

My motiviation is still high, so I'm not worried about being derailed.

While I'm sick, however, I have decided to move my daily intake up to maintenance level. My Katch-McArdle BMR+TDEE (Basal Metabolic Rate + Total Daily ...

I STILL can't work out?!?

Wednesday, December 26th 2007

AGH! This is driving me nuts. Every day I go to the gym; and every day I sweat on the cardio machines watching people work out on the floor below. I've been listening to more of Tom Venuto's interviews where he talks about the importance of weight training. Most recently I listened to his training techniques for bodybuilding. Why I (used to) eat sugar... wow!

The Need to Have a Craving Satisfied
I've always battled sugar addiction. With the holidays, sweets are everywhere at my office. The administrative assistant wandered by my door and said that there were a few oreos left if I was interested.

I didn't really feel a physical craving for sugar (since my diet and exercise are on track), but psychologically I wanted a treat. I walked over, picked up the oreos, and walked back to my desk.

After I sat down, it hit me...

I didn't wan...

It's time to go...

Saturday, December 8th 2007

I've actually been a member of www.burnthefat.com for about 5 weeks now, but today is the day I chose to get started.

I have been in shape before - In 2000 I hired a personal trainer to help me figure out why I was 28% bodyfat even though I could run 6 miles without a problem. My first trainer, Carla, was a nutritionist who helped me understand how food worked and how to best use food to fuel fat loss. When Carla joined the sheriff's department, I was introduced to Rebecca whose surgically ...
