I found a great article on night-time eating.

I've mentioned the "honest authority" Tom Venuto several times. He is a natural bodybuilder and prolific writer who has a reputation for having unbiased opinions and expertise. Whenever I have a question, I drop it in Google with "Tom Venuto" in quotes. Like magic, up pops an article that he has written that answers my questions with uncanny accuracy.

Sabotage - Why You Need To Plan Meals

Bad decisions... I'm looking back at myself last night and really wondering why I made the decision to eat pizza. (We brought home left-over pizza from the weekend outing.)

My wife said it was "refrigerator cafe" tonight... I said, "No problem, we've got lots of stuff". I needed about 1000 calories to reach my 2500 for the day... so in the back of my mind, I thought: Okay - I need some calorie dense food. There were two slices of pizza sitting right up front.

Burn the Fat...

I need to remember how I lost the first 20 lbs. When I stopped doing cardio, it really threw me for a loop and you can see it in my numbers. When I do no cardio, I have a hard time sticking to my intake plan. When I do cardio 7 days in a row, I have a hard time eating enough food! (Now that is a problem you WANT to have!)

The calorie slips last week stalled my progress a bit; but to be honest, being unable to stick to my net calorie targets did more damage to my morale than it did to my we...

(Day Off)

I decided to "Turn off the machine" today. No blog... No food tracking... No limitations. I didn't do this because I "deserved it" (I haven't exactly been on-track and food shouldn't be used as a reward). I needed a "reset".

It is simply too hard to keep calories low without cardio...

Tomorrow, I will go over the plan again.

Cardio vs Weight Training
Much to my amazement I remained at the same weight this week - 231.5. I'm amazed because according to my charts I was 2183 calories OVER BUDGET!

Yeah - oops. A big part of the difficulty came from failing to do cardio. When I do cardio, I can eat 2500 calories a day. That is a LOT of food. Without the cardio, I've got to reduce calories drastically to hit my 1850 net for the da...
