Thursday, Jul 21 2011 - The Looming Weekend

View CALORIEHOLIC's food & exercise for this day

I know I'm supposed to look forward to the weekend, but I have to admit that I tend to dread weekends from a caloric/fat perspective. During the week I have a strong routine and therefore have very little difficulty meeting my targets and staying on track. On the weekends, however, I end up having so much going on that it becomes REALLY hard to stay within my limits, even when I preplan and look at restaurant menus in advance. Plus, I have much less time to exercise on the weekends. This weekend I'm going to try really hard to maintain my focus on conscious choice, constantly reminding myself that I want everything I do to propel me closer to my goals and dreams. Stay tuned...

I think over the years there have bee too many "diet plans" where you were given free days to do what you want. I've been rereading the gold lessons and this is part of one: Tip: The key is moderation. No food is "bad" (unless you're allergic to it). Some foods are "occasional" foods and others are "every day" foods. As long as you are not eating those "occasional" foods too often, a treat now and then is a good idea.
