Yesterday my little baby boy turned 10. He wanted to go out for dinner at Texas Roadhouse so we did. We invited my Dad to join us and it was a nice time. We got the bill and my hubby figured out the tip, which was about $10. I was thinking to myself this morning: Would I have paid someone $10 to do what that waitress did for me at home? The answer was a resounding "HELL NO." Her servicing was not worth the $10 I paid for it. I really like the food at restaurants but I really don't like the bad service, having to pay tips when they aren't deserved, and waiting waiting waiting. I like the idea of carry-out, but the food is usually half way cold by time you get it home. And NO, I don't like the restaurant atmosphere: noise, smoking, and more noise and more smoke. The non-smoking sections don't really exist in any building. Smoke doesn't see the boundary and tell itslef: "Self, that is a no-smoking section and I should stop drifting right here."

Anyway, I am obviously in a very *chipper* mood today. I have a phone interview with a guy that works for a company I met a bunch of senior people from last summer in Orlando. I am going to see what they have to offer and ask for a $20,000 per year increase in salary. I am just in one of those frames of mind right now where I don't give a damn. I was very drunk when I met them and they were still impressed with me. Why not ask for $20k more, right? I am worth it. Besides, they are used to paying California wages so I would still be considered a "bargain" at that rate, anyway...LOL. My brother, a Sherriff in N. California, made that kind of wage his FIRST YEAR as a new academy graduate plus state benefits. Geez, maybe I should ask for $30k more...

I need to go find a way to get myself in a more positive mood. Maybe actually eating something would be a good place to start....
