Lots of stuff going on in the brain...Life is so very interesting and I am starting to seriously question what our culture considers normal, healthy, right, wrong, etc. Why do we teach our children that boys do this and girls act like that? If you are a good parent, you would do X for/with your child? Uuugh.

I read a little article today written by some historian (or something) that said Moses was likely on a trip when he heard "God" give him the ten commandments and also when he saw the burning bush. LOL. Apparently, it was normal for spiritual/religous leaders of that time to take mind altering substances to get them in a "spiritual" state. Just too freekin' funny to me.

So, yeah, I am questioning absolutely everything right now. That article seriously made me laugh. But I'll send my kid to his private Christian school tomorrow. Go me. Hubby has, I think, enjoyed this current mental state of mine. He is very smart, articulate and somewhat opinionated--not so much as me, though. Our discussions have been quite interesting lately. They are always interesting, but at a whole new level now.

My boss' mother is dying of pancreatic cancer and he has dumped all of the work on me (with my blessing and encouragement) so I have been really busy and will continue to be so until after she passes. I'm thankful that I didn't end up jumping ship when I was tempted and could be here for him. He is close to her and I know this is very hard for him.

I use a Mac computer at home and was looking at buying Quicken for the Mac, or keeping it on my work laptop and upgrading the Windows version then buying the mobile piece that will synch with my Windows 6 phone. It was going to cost a boat load of money for all that mess so I started looking for an online alternative. I found a very interesting product/service called Mvelopes (www.mvelopes.com) and signed up for a 30 day trial. I just gotta say that I am LOVING it. They have a site that I can log on to my account either from Safari (or IE/Firefox/Mozilla/Etc.) and from my phone. Online billpay is included in your subscription (and your free trial). It works VERY differently than Quicken but I really think it is the greatest thing since sliced bread. LOL. It took me about 20 hours to get it all setup and to figure it out, but it was soooo worth it.

So this post is all over the place, but so are my thoughts. Back to work for me.

Smart lively intellectual companions are pretty darn nice. Anyway, hang in there and I too have Mac with Quicken. Be cool and take care.
