View CELAWLOR's food & exercise for this day
This weekend has been interesting. We purchased some new furniture and a new TV last week. It is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. We had already ripped up the carpeting in that room several months ago and we've been walking on the bare concrete ever since. We took the old furniture out to the street because the trash company will pick it up (as I wanted to clean the room throughly). I didn't even get the cushions on the sofa before someone stopped to look at it. It looks great, but when you sit on it, the support is gone. They didn't care about that and I told them that the matching loveseat and chair were in the house. They said that they wanted to come back later that night to pick it all up. Okay!?!?
So, they showed back up later that night with a bigger truck and I asked them if they wanted our 36 in. TV that the buttons were broken on (but the remote works) and the sound just stops sometimes. They were ecsatic about it. I felt bad afterwards because it was good enough for some people...but not us. I feel like a glutton. I am just replacing that TV with a similar-sized 46" widescreen, and the new furniture is actually cheaper than the old stuff, but I still feel kinda embarassed about it. They offered to come mow my lawn and do some other things for me. I was just going to throw that stuff out so I couldn't make someone WORK for it.
Once I got that stuff out of the family room, I decided I should mop (the concrete foundation). It was covered in this white-ish stuff that I thought was paint. WRONG. It was wall texture residue AND paint. As soon as I started mopping, it dissolved into this pasty mess. We are planning to put wood floors in that room so the floor has to be cleaned before we can do that, anyway. I spent about 7 hours srubbing texture and scraping latex paint off my foundation and I am only about 2/3 done with that ONE room (approx. 17' X 15'). I hurt so bad--everywhere. The furniture comes tomorrow and I still have about 4 hours worth of scrubbing/scraping to do.
***TMI ALERT*** The reason I am writing all of this is because my lower back hurts pretty good this morning. I was standing in the kitchen this morning and pressed my flabby tummy up and, guess what? The back pain stopped immediately. If I didn't have the extra weight of my tummy pulling on my lower back constantly, I wouldn't be hurting right now (well, in that spot, anyway).

Wake up call!!!
Anyway, I'm going to start running again. I've quit walking and running for a few months and my tendonitis has actually healed! I was looking at the sales ads yesterday and found that my Brooks GTS running shoes were on sale for 50% off at Sports Authority. I've needed new running shoes for a while. So, I went a got a new pair for $47!!!!! I am going to re-commit myself to my weight loss and running goals and make this aching back a thing of the past.

I bet if a skinny person scraped the floor for 7 hours, they would have a back ache too. // I love to walk and run myself. Have fun on your new shoes.
