View CELAWLOR's food & exercise for this day

My boy and I made it safetly to Nebraska yesterday afternoon--to my mother's house. I promptly went to the gym and ran my 4 miles. My Mom lives near Bellevue and I have an appreciation for people who run here. It is hills, hills and more hills. It would have killed me to try to run on these things. ;)

Anyway...I got to the gym and set a pretty easy pace on the treadmill and I figured out exactly what was wrong with my form. It was the twist. I wasn't really twisting. As soon as I started to twist, and bend my knees a little more, it was almost like magic. :y: I still struggle with the whole "imagine yourself elbowing the person behind you" concept...but, I am working on it. I find my arms going in front of me more often, than not. Ah, well. Parctice makes perfect. This morning my core is pretty sore-especially my back muscles. But I like it.

My mom hugged me, of course, when we arrived and she said "I love you." I didn't say anthing and it was awkward. I know that bothers her, but I won't say something that I don't know if I mean, or not, just to protect her feelings. She took me down to the river to show me all of the devastaion from the flooding. :yawn3: Whatever...I'm a horrible daughter. It's life--floods happen, fires happen, people die.

On a lighter note, my kiddo and I got to spend some quality time together traveling up here. I usually make the drive all in one day but we needed some mom-son time. We stayed in a hotel in Wichita, KS and just hung out and talked and swam and read and talked some more. I've been noticing how much like me his is becomming but this trip--OMG--he is mini-me and it is SOOOOOOOO freeking hysterical. I am very fond of myself so I, of course, find this development pretty amusing.

Hubby seems to really be enjoying himself in Florida. It's a good thing I sent him over there with a budget. He already called wanting to buy a new hard drive. He knows we can't afford that and he told me he was thinking about putting it on a credit card. I had to remind him (for the 10000th time) that just becasue we have the available credit, doesn't mean we can afford to buy something...oy. Gotta love it. And that, my friends, is why I control our finances...
