Oooooh...I got my little man back!!!! They pulled up to the house at about 5:30 yesterday and he ran in the house and practically jumped on me! It was sooo nice to have a house full of people. But, it made me miss my husband more. Mom and I went to the grocery store after we got back from dinner and I got some stuff in the house to eat. No beer. :)

My boss wanted me to go to San Antonio to do some training next week but I told him that I didn't think I'd be able to make it since my husband isn't home. We've been going back and forth on it and I even tried to get my husband to come home early because it really is pretty important that I go. I am the only one that knows this product. So, boss and I were talking about it some more yesterday and he suggested I bring my son with me and see if anyone else I knew wanted to go to entertain him and my boss would pay for the extra room. That got my gears turning because I had never even considered bringing the boy with me.

I did some planning and searching and scheming and negotiating. When we go visit this client, we get an $85/night corporate rate for any room and it is a pretty nice hotel. I got hooked up with a two queen bed suite from Wednesday until Sunday. My boss will pay for all but one of those nights. I found a summer camp program that is put on by the YMCA down there and they have day rates so I can put him there for Thursday and Friday while I am onsite with the client--and be able to write it off, too. I'll get reimbursed for all of the mileage and all of the meals (including my son's) through Friday night. I'll deduct the $85 for the room for one night from my expense report and my son and I will catch a movie on the Riverwalk after dinner on Friday, go to Six Flags on Saturday, tubing on the Comal River on Sunday, and come home Sunday evening. I'm so excited and he's completely wound-up and over-the-top excited about it.

We've already spent a LOT of money on vacations this year, so I didn't think we'd be able to do anything really fun this summer. But, this works out so well and I got my quarterly bonus today that was almost double what I am used to getting.

Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!

that works out great and so glad he has returned. Living alone is not what it is cracked up to be. :)
