We were up and out of the house at 8:30 this morning. Friend got an oil change, I (finally) got my new tires, we spent waaaaaaaaaaay too much time in Wal*Mart, back home, lunch, show friend how to replace the windshield wipers on her car (and also did mine)...now: nap time. =D

She goes home Monday. We are going to go out tonight to a club I have not been to before to see this band called the Inflatable Love Boys that I have never seen before. Should be a good time. Tomorrow: group dinne...

My friend and I are still getting along very well and she has no plans to go back home, yet. She decided that she will go home when there is gas, groceries, internet, electricity, etc. available OR when her office re-opens and gas, groceries and electricity are available.

We are not in the same industries (per se), but her company looks to recruit companies like mine to push their products to our end users. With that said, she started to talk about a demo script she was working on yesterd...

What.A.Disaster! So my friend gets back from her client/colleague visits and we talk about her husband coming up here with us. He previously refused to come up here because he said he has a job down there. His job, by the way, is selling electric guitars at a very small local music shop. The shop has no electricity. And, even if it did, do you think anyone in that area will be looking to buy a guitar right now???? So, anyway, he refused again and they (apparently) had some kind of argument...

My girlfriend and I met at the company I used to work for when I lived in the Houston/NASA area. I think the company has over 150 employees. The lower floor of the building got flooded and the higher floors got wind damage. All but about 20 of the employees are spread all over the country right now, but mostly in Texas. My friend said that the company (an IT company, by the way) did not have offsite backup servers and no disaster plan in place. She is VERY worried about having a job in 30 d...

:love: My girlfriend :love: I love having her here! She got in at almost midnight last night and we stayed up until after 1 just chatting. Up early this morning to rearrange the furniture so that she has an "office" to work from. She brought THREE computers with her. :laugh5: The entire formal living area of my home looks like some makeshift disaster response center. Three "workcenters", 7 computers, 5 cell phones and wires crossing ALL OVER the floor. Love it! I might get a picture ...
