View CELAWLOR's food & exercise for this day
Is it seriously the middle of October, already?
Still working with the worst client today. I am having a very difficult time staying motivated to finish what I am supposed to be doing. It is very important work to this organization, but it is so hard for me to care. They took my hubby's birthday dinner away from him yesterday. How does that saying go...lack of planning (or intelligence or common sense) on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part. Yeah, sumthin' like that.
So, once again, I find myself in the cycle of putting off the needs of several wonderful clients to devote all of my time to one (less deserving, if you ask me). How horrible is it to have the needs of one outweigh the needs of the many. I understand, from our perspective, why we cater to this organization more--money. They are so caught up in their internal politics, red tape and documentation that ANYTHING we do for them ends up costing them at least three times as much as it would a normal organization. Our conference call was supposed to be 30 minutes last night and it was slightly over two hours. I suppose they don't care that having both my boss and myself on the phone with them costs them $325 per hour--in just our fees. And there were six of them on the conference call, too. Do the math on that and--OMG! That hurts my brain to think about it...
My boss and I were chatting on yahoo during the two hour call because we were both sooo bored. He knows I laugh easily and he was just cracking me up. One time I let a little giggle out at the wrong time...had to pretend it was a cough and excuse myself. He said: "How much do you think it would cost to blow up an entire building?"

Yes, the meeting was THAT bad...
Next time I am in one of those "corporate team building" meetings that he arranges, I am going to text him that same line.
Geez, most of my blogs/journals have been about work lately. Maybe I should get a clue???

Wow. I just ate half of a chicken for lunch.

Guess I needed some protein?!?!

IM during meetings can get dangerous. But is sounds like it kept the boredom away. A two-hour meeting is too long. Take care Judy
