I spent all day working with my client that specializes in luxury real estate. I'm willing to bet that she didn't get three phone calls the entire time I was there. Her phones are usually ringing off the hook. It was very depressing. She is DEFINITELY a saver, so I know she, and her business, will be fine. It was just such an eye-opener. I made some pretty good money today (this is my 10-year, standing side gig) that is going directly into savings. All of the money I earn from working with her will go into savings until I have a better feel for what is going to happen with the economy.

On my way to see her this morning, there is this one long, country-ish road called county club blvd, because there is a country club on one side of the road. On the residential side, I think every third house was for sale. I've never seen anything like this before. These are really large houses on lots of property, too. I'm just in shock in all that has happened and how quickly this year. In all the years I have driven that road, I've only seen two houses for sale. Now there are easily six or seven--and all at the same time. Oh my.

So, on a lighter note...the boy is in charge of dinner this evening. Pork roast (with my/our favorite rub), steamed veggies and biscuits. He's dying to make biscuits because he wants to play with the rolling pin. I'm thinking about getting us some professional-looking chef aprons and getting our names embroidered on them for a Christmas gift. I've never owned an apron, but always meant to get one. I saw some some really nice, good quality aprons at Williams Sonoma today that gave me the idea. But that is definitely an unnecessary expense right now so we will see...

Off to supervise the dinner prep.
