Don't know if I've mentioned that I've been struggling with a pretty severe case of plantar fasciitis (I think I did). Well, in true Cindy fashion, I was feeling *very* good and energetic on Saturday morning and decided that it was a good day to get some stuff around the house done. Which put me in all kinds of pain...worse than my achilles tendonitis ever has. THEN, we had football saturday afternoon. And, in case y'all aren't aware of this, football fields are big, especially when there are four in a row. The boy had to go and I had to walk. A lot. I was almost in tears when I got my retarded-ass home.
I stayed in my room all day yesterday, since the bathroom is only like 5 feet from the foot of my bed.

My foot liked me much better yesterday by time it was time to go to sleep. I stayed in my night splint most of the day and I think that helped quite a bit. It was weird to be in bed all day, watching TV, and having my boys wait on me. I really didn't care much for the TV watching, but reading in bed is never very comfortable for me. My boy and I watched a movie called Drumline, that was on one of the channels, and it was a pretty good show. The rest of the day was spent watching shows on Discovery Health, a CSI: Miami marathon and a Law & Order marathon. It got me through the day, at any rate, and I remember why (again) I don't watch television. {sigh}
I need to remind myself that these types of injuries take lots of time to heal (without steroids/anti-inflammatories) . Even if I am starting to feel better, I need to give it more TIME!
The boy lost his football game on Saturday. That was their first loss and they totally killed themselves. The other team wasn't any better, really, but our boys made some really really bad plays. Practice today will be a killer, I'm sure. Good thing it's starting to cool down here, their little bodies can take more when they are cooler.
I have my last ultrasound on Friday. They will check the baby's organs, look for birth defects, and verify the gender. We're pretty excited about that, even though they already said it is likely a girl. Nothing like knowing for sure! I have every intention of FINISHING my getting-ready-for-baby shopping this weekend. I already put everyone on notice that if they threw me a baby shower that they'd be doing it without me. So we have been able to get things early, while I still have the energy and am not completely huge. It's such a relief to know that I am just a few articles of clothing and a bag of baby wipes away from being able to bring the baby home.
That's all from lalaland today.
