View CELAWLOR's food & exercise for this day
About 5.5 weeks old here. The full size photo shows her beautiful blue eyes, but I'm not sure how it's going to work out here. She's got amazing eyes. Light blue sun-bursts in the center and very dark blue on the outside.
Today was my last official day of maternity leave. I've been eating up every possible minute of time I can with Leah. She really likes to sit in her swing and I have been taking her out so that I could hold her. She doesn't usually care much for that and she ends up back in her swing pretty quickly after very loudly protesting.

I did, however, get the chance to rock her to sleep yesterday afternoon for one of her naps and I totally enjoyed that.
My Dad's wife finally decided to come see the baby.

I know it was irking my Dad that she hadn't bothered, thus far. She held Leah all of 2 minutes and was done. I'm not really bothered that she didn't want to hold Leah. (She smokes and I didn't want my little princess smelling like the Marlboro Man, anyway.) But I could tell Dad was bothered by it all. Some day we'll all figure out why he is *still* with her...eh, maybe not.
I got the all-clear from the midwife to continue on with my regular existence. My Polar RS300X sd "training computer" (as they call it) arrived a couple days ago and I've been figuring out how it all works. I figured out the fitness test part and, to my great surprise, landed in the "Good" zone on the fitness test. I've been sitting on my ass for how many months with this baby (and the one I miscarried) and I still managed to measure in the good category?!?! Makes me wonder what it was before all of that! Tomorrow I will begin the couch to 5k training plan with my new handy-dandy little device that will beep at me when it is time to change pace--and a whole lot more. Woohoo.
This weekend I am taking the boy shopping and getting my eye exam and new contacts. 'Tis that time of year, again. I was told that my favorite optometrist was fired for not prescribing correctly.

I loved that guy. Hopefully he got mine right and I won't have to adjust to some wonky change in my prescription. That has happened to me a couple times in my life and I do NOT enjoy the adjustment period for that.
