View CELAWLOR's food & exercise for this day

Is it already the end of November? :dead2: Little man turned the big 3 months old yesterday. He "celebrated" by screaming his head off from 6 - 8 pm. He and I went to Walmart last night at 7. I put him in the sling and he was out like a light, after about 5 minutes of screaming in the cart area. Ugh. I'll be happy when this phase is over. He is the happiest baby except for 6 - 8 pm. Every.Single.Night. And I am not joking when I say he stops being screamy at 8 pm, on the dot. Weird, but true.

Monday we got our new armored car (I refuse to acknowledge that I just purchased a minivan). It's a 2011 Nissan Quest. We had been planning on the purchase in the spring, right before I got laid off. Of course, that derailed everything. We got pre-approved though our credit union for the loan and went to the dealership Sunday to get our trade-in appraised. They never called back, if you can believe that!!! I even called twice and left a message once. Nothing. So, I decided to take mr.cranky-butt with me to get the thing appraised at another dealership on Monday. My son wanted to go and Leah wanted to go. I thought to myself that it will be no big deal taking my three kids to the dealership just to get the car appraised...15 minutes and then we can grab some food on the way home. Right-o! So while they were looking at my car, they were running numbers and getting my pay-off. He came back with $9K off the new car plus over $3k incentives and said they could have me in the new car as soon as they could get it detailed...with my three kids and no hubby to sign. We left the house at right before 7 and got home at 9:30 in the new car. The kids were amazing (they had dealership popcorn for dinner) and that was the best and fastest car-buying experience--ever. Hubby and I went back yesterday to have him sign the papers and to get our stuff out of the old car. It was interesting that Nissan was able to offer the same 3% rate as my credit union, though. Especially since I opted for the cash incentive over the low APR. I don't think I will ever be able to understand that one.

Thanksgiving was interesting. This was the first year (I believe) that I did not leave the table full. Cameron didn't want to be put down and I didn't get the chance to make the pies before dinner, so I just didn't get to eat much. And, I didn't miss it. I've always made a first-class pig out of myself at Thanksgiving. =D It was nice, though, not being uncomfortably full. My family enjoyed the meal and that was all the enjoyment I needed!!!

I am happy to have the car purchase behind us. It's time to get ready to find a house! Our lease expires in April and I *need* to be out of here before summer. Amazingly enough, there isn't crap on the market right now. We are looking for a 5 bedroom and there are all of 3 of them on the market in the area we want to stay in. We have the option to build but I am terrified of the builder going bankrupt and taking my money so I really don't want to do it. If we don't find something by March, I might re-consider. The landlord refuses to put an appropriate A/C unit upstairs and I will not torture us living in a 90 degree house this summer...and paying $400 electric bills for that privilege!

Tomorrow I go to the office for the first time. I am excited, but not looking forward to pumping all day. The HR person is going to hook me up with an empty, window-less office. I'm hoping I don't miss my little man too much, though. Sometimes I miss him after just not seeing him for two hours. :$
