View CELAWLOR's food & exercise for this day
4.5 years since I last posted anything here. It's been a lot longer than that since I last gave any thought to actually using the tools available on this site. Life and my career have been a whirlwind since hubby and I decided to have more kids (like 10 - 11 years ago!). Kid #2 has more than kept us on our toes pretty much since birth. She's been diagnosed by different care providers with (mostly in order of diagnosis) selective mutism, tourette's, autism spectrum disorder (aka Asperger's), a stupid-high IQ, anxiety disorder and most recently suspected of oppositional defiant disorder. Kid #3 doesn't fall "neatly" into any one thing, but is currently qualified as a child with autism in special education, even though all the doctors say he isn't autistic. He didn't start talking until he was 5, doesn't relate well to peers and spends a lot of his time in his head in his own little world. Kid #1 left home this past March right after he turned 21.
Professionally, I found a really great job about 3.5 years ago in a large, global organization and I've been traveling like crazy all over the US and I've now been to a handful of different countries. A few months ago I was assigned to a massive project about 20 miles form home that will last, at minimum, through December 2020, but will probably go another 1 - 2 years after that. I am learning how to function being home every day and decided now is a good time to spend a little time focusing on my health.
In the past, I have rapidly dropped a ton of weight and then rapidly gained it all right back, plus some. I intentionally decided to quit trying to lose weight about 2 years ago and try to train myself how to listen to my body. Largely, that has gone well. I've learned to recognize actual hunger clues, recognize when I am satiated vs full and learned to stay away from several foods because I do not like how they make me feel. My clothing size hasn't changed in about 3 years (and neither has my wardrobe so I can rule out vanity sizing) so I did something good there.
What has suffered tremendously since the kids were born, and as I was traveling a lot, is my activity level. It's embarrassing, really. So, the plan is to replace the batteries in the scale, swallow hard and set the new baseline, start logging the food and moving this body!

Welcome back Cindy, time for some ME time!
You'll notice, activity is much diminished since you left, but there are a few of us left! I'm thinking of renewing, even though I don't count calories, but mostly for the blog and for friends trying to struggle through it all with me!
