Saturday, Feb 17 2007 - Feeling Like I Can Do This

View CWCEBMEY's food & exercise for this day

Today, I feel like I can do this. I can lose all of this weight. Why is it that on some days, you feel like you will always be this way and other days, you feel like you can do this, you can be a success?

I've gained 10 of my 30 pounds back. But in the last 2 weeks I've lost 4 of those pounds. As I was gaining the weight, I stopped using my food diary. I stopped counting carbs or even calories in my head. I had worked so hard to lose the weight and then I just started watching come back on. It was so easy to gain it back, and it is so hard to lose it.

But, today, I feel like I can do this. I can lose the weight I've gained and then keep on losing more weight. I like it when my clothes feel lose and big on me. I have more energy when I exercise. It feels so good to lose, and it is hard for me to understand why I turn my back on those great feelings of success and go back to my old habits.

But, today. . . I feel like I can do this!

WE can do this! Thanks for the message! I was starting down the gaining road again, well no...I was well on that road! STOP! Turn back around and run back! I loved losing weight, loved all the things that came with it.

So here we go!

:hi: Cynthia, I understand.....I've been there. It's hard to get rid of the negative thoughts, but I really believe that that's the key. Yesterday I caught myself in a negative pattern and stopped it in its tracks. Sometimes it works, but we have to keep trying. I think when our mind gets in agreement with our body, our spirit, which doesn't care about food at all, loses the battle. Eventually, if we don't quit, it will all come together, I firmly believe. I had lost 40 lbs my first time around with a trainer, and then I went away for a weekend and ate whatever I wanted. It was the weekend that never ended--food-wise. LOL I'm not sure what happens, maybe we are congratulating ourselves on a job well done and celebrating with food, but more likely it's those negative thought patterns that go along with "you blew it" etc., etc. etc.... I think that's why journaling is so helpful.
Don't give up. You CAN do it! :)
