View CWCEBMEY's food & exercise for this day
Today, I cut some lilacs and bridal veil from my yard. I put them in a can (sort of looks like a milk can) and brought them in for our secretary. They looked so nice, I think I'll cut some more down for me to enjoy at home. Nothing smells as fresh and spring like as lilacs.
I grew up in San Diego. It doesn't get cold enough to grow lilacs (well up in the mountains it does). So my first experience with lilacs was when I moved to Denver. One Spring morning, when I was about 27, I had my sliding door open. My family room smelled so sweet. My neighbor said, those are your lilacs. It is too bad that they only bloom for about 3 weeks. Beautiful, sweet smelling lilacs. . . .
It's Wednesday. The weekend is almost here. The weather is warming up and I'm heading South. It will be nice to get away. We are heading to St. George. Maybe we will get a hike in at Zion's National Park. If not, most certainly we can stop in Springdale and do some shopping.
Well, its time to get back to work.
