This past weekend, my hubby and I had a good discussion on getting back into the swing of things and working out. We did go to the gym on Monday. We were supposed to go yesterday, but my daughter and her fiance came over, so we went out to eat. Tonight, we are definately going.

I wish my husband would get into the pattern we used to have. We'd come home, cook a health meal and eat it, then go work out. Now, he wants to come home and go work out. Then come home and eat. On Monday I told him that I would be too tired after working out to cook. So he said he would cook. Well, we worked out, came home, he turned the grill on and cooked up two lean steaks. I still had to do everything else. . . I did the salad, sliced cucumbers, cooked carrots, and cottage cheese (lowfat).

Tonight, I'm going to eat first. He likes to come home, go work out, then come home again, sit down while I cook, then eat and sit some more. But, tonight, I'm going to stick to doing it my way. He can go to the gym by himself and then come home and eat with me and then I'll go to the gym and workout by myself.

It is more fun to go to the gym with him then without him. But I have a better work out and feel better if I eat dinner first. When I eat first, I think about what I've eaten and how many calories do I need to burn off. Eating first gives me the energy to work out. I feel better when I get home. I'm energized. The other way, just drains me.

Well, that's my plan. Eat first, then workout. My husband can join me or we can workout on our own.
