Thunder and Lightening

Last night, we had a really big thunderstorm. It was quite exciting to turn off the lights and watch. The rain really came down hard. The sky was lighting up every few seconds. And some of the thunder. . . you could feel it.Today's high is going to be 92. We will probably have another thunderstorm this afternoon or evening and I'm hoping it's going to be another good one. Those thunderstorms can cool us off and that's a good thing.
The evening news reported some houses flooding...

I work in a hospital and my office is on the first floor. I have to walk by the kitchen to get to my office. Today, the kitchen was making bacon. Oh how I love bacon. The cafeteria charges 30 cents a slice. The temptation has been killing me.
I brought my cottage cheese and a fresh peach. But I want that bacon. I walked up to the second floor and did my best to avoid the cafeteria. Now, I'm back in my office with my cottage cheese and peach. I'm not really safe until 10:00. 30 m...

Today is my daughter's 23rd birthday. It is hard to believe that 23 years ago I was in the hospital having her. I always think about all the events that happened on the day she was born. Those are my memories that I enjoy.What an impact children make on a person's life. She is such a delight and joy to be around. I can say that now, because she is no longer a teenager. Her teenage years were probably the roughest. But now she is engaged and is planning her wedding for next year.

Weekends are Never Long Enough

The weekend was good, but too short. All the gotta do stuff gets in the way with what I want to do. Last Saturday, I thought, I'll get up early and get some weeds pulled. But I woke up at 7:30 and began to read my book, then my mother called and we talked until 10:30. Then, I thought, just one more chapter and I'll start the day. We had friends over for dinner last night. The four of us went through several bottles of wine (I think 3-4). When I went to add those calories into my food diary, you guessed it. I went way over. It is hard to undo something like this. They left about 10:00 and I was not going to go for a walk to burn up those additional calories. AND, I really didn't think that it would put me over my calorie intake. I had said, "no, thanks" to the chocolate cake.
