Today is my daughter's 23rd birthday. It is hard to believe that 23 years ago I was in the hospital having her. I always think about all the events that happened on the day she was born. Those are my memories that I enjoy.

What an impact children make on a person's life. She is such a delight and joy to be around. I can say that now, because she is no longer a teenager. Her teenage years were probably the roughest. But now she is engaged and is planning her wedding for next year.

Tonight, all the kids are coming over for her birthday dinner. She asked for meatloaf (and since it is her birthday, we'll let her have the end cut. I have the bread ready to go in the bread making machine. I bought some nice fresh green bean and we'll have baked potatoes too.

Even though she isn't a fan of cakes, she asked for her father's favorite cake. So last night, I baked a Devils food chocolate cake. I'll frost the cake while the meatloaf is cooking.

I bought her some cute clothes. I hope she likes them. What I like and what she likes are not always the same thing. But she can always return them if she doesn't like them.

Cynthia, I don't have any children, but I live vicariously through the lives of all my "nieces" and "nephews" (family or not). My girlfriend Marianne's daughter just turned 23 and is a joy! She loves hanging out with us (and me too) which makes me feel wonderful. Regarding your comments on my blog; I look in the mirror and don't concentrate on the reflection. I know who I am...I think you know who you are too. And that is a wonderful thing. Have a great birthday celebration!!! Grace W. :)
